The initiative, entitled Project ‘CATALYSST’ —Cognitive Approach That Advances Lives of Youth and Stimulates Societal Transformation— is an elaborate undertaking that intends to shape society in a positive way. At its roots is a first ever school system and syllabus that educates and enlightens children at an early age. And it hopes this knowledge will permeate through families, friends and communities along with progressive tenets such as gender equality, women’s rights, peace, tolerance, honesty and hard work.
“Our plan is to create the world’s best school in totality and offer children free education,” says Qamar Rizvi, aQmen’s President and CEO who conceived of the initiative. “It’s our way of giving back to society” he states. “We will start by focusing on countries where children are underprivileged and are in dire need, not just of education but other basic necessities of life”. Initially the focus will be struggling countries in places like Africa and Asia. As well, those nations mired in conflict such as Iraq, Yemen and Syria where innocent children have been helplessly caught in the middle for far too long. It’s a tremendous challenge but Mr. Rizvi claims to have developed a blueprint to make it happen and a public-private business model that will provide financing and enable scale.
